ONLINE COUNSELING

ELIMINATES BARRIERS TO CARE

You’ll get a Customized Treatment Plan: With large scale online therapy platforms, you're assigned a counselor. That counselor may or may not have the expertise you're searching for and they may take a cookie cutter approach instead of taking the time to individualize a care plan for you.

You’ll Save Time: You won't be wasting weeks and months on a therapy platform only to realize they don't have experience with your concerns or worse be transferred to another counselor to start all over again. You can attend from your own environment, where you’re most comfortable.

It’s Accessible: You don't have to leave the comfort of your own home. Online counseling is a good option for those living in remote areas, are disabled, are housebound, or are simply uncomfortable leaving home.

It’s Convenient: You can be seen at your office, your home, or other private location. No travel time, no traffic, no parking, no fuel costs, and no waiting room.

Open Communication: The absence of face to face contact can prompt more open dialouge and encourage expression in more thoughtful, self reflective, and insightful ways leading to an increased level of honesty.

Offers Anonymity: The internet offers a level of anonymity that is perceived by many clients as non-threatening and offers reduced stigma related to seeking mental health services.

You’ll Have More Immediate Access: No more waiting for weeks to speak to a qualified professional. After a 30 minute phone conversation and informed consent is signed, counseling can begin.

*If you wish to engage in online counseling you will be informed of both the benefits and limitations of my style and therapeutic approach in an informed consent document which is reviewed and signed prior to beginning therapy and formulating treatment goals.

Online therapy DOES NOT lend itself to crisis situations and a timely response. Online therapy is not appropriate if you have suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, or a serious psychiatric illness that lends itself to instability.
